Softwoods can consult with you and design the deck that you are looking for, then produce plans and cutting lists for your local council, and supply and deliver all of the materials you will need to complete your deck successfully (including hardware, post shoes, concrete and stains) We will also be happy to provide you with any advice or troubleshooting tips free of charge if you run into any trouble while building your deck.

The design of your deck’s framework can be a complicated process with many variables coming into play. Our blog has a guide to assist you in selecting the appropriate timbers and layout for your deck, however we also offer a free decking design service so that you can save yourself the hassle and also get plans included to submit to council (with purchase of materials) Our decks are all designed based on long tested and reliable engineering standards.
In addition to having the hassle taken out of calculating what you need for your deck and drawing up your plans, is the speed with which we can do it for you. Our computerised design system has been developed based on our engineering and is fully customisable to allow for variables that you may require. What this means is that if you bring your measurements to one of our stores, we can create your plans and provide you with a quote for your deck on the spot! If however you aren’t able to get to us in Adelaide, you can go to our online decking store, add your measurements there, and we will provide you with a quote including freight to your local depot (or if you’re in Adelaide, to your door)
Decking species
Softwoods carry the best range of lengths, sizes and varieties of decking anywhere in South Australia, in both hard and soft woods. Choose from: ACQ treated pine, Merbau, Kapur, Swan River Red, Spotted Gum, Grey Gum, Tallowwood, Black Butt, Ironbark, Forest Reds and Jarrah, as well as other species which are periodically available.
