Softwoods is the South Australian distributor of Trex, the world’s leading manufacturer of composite decking products. Trex invented the category of “alternative timber decking” more than 20 years ago and continues to set and maintain the standards for composite decking today.

Earth-Friendly Decking

Recycled hardwood timber chips and plastic film — that’s what Trex composite decking boards and accessories are made from. Recycled materials make up about 50% of Trex decks and would otherwise be useless waste had they not been repurposed in this manner. Trex products are bound together by plastic film using some of the most innovative and earth-friendly manufacturing processes developed.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise as Trex are fully committed to preserving the environment. They have been doing so for more than 20 years, long before being “green” was fashionable. No harmful chemicals are ever used during production and much of the waste and by-products are reclaimed and recycled.

Internationally, Trex manufacture a complete line of composite decking products that include decking boards, deck frames, deck railings, outdoor lighting, outdoor furniture, fencing and lattices.

Now available from Softwoods are five of the most popular colours in Trex’s transcend premium line of  composite decking boards:

  • Lava Rock is dark and lush, approximating the look and feel of walnut.
  • Spiced Rum is a shade lighter but no less luscious.
  • Tiki Torch is significantly lighter in shade and warmer in hue and looks a lot like spotted gum.
  • Island Mist carries with it an air of mystery yet is distinctly like weathered silvergum.
  • Havana Gold is reminiscent of a hot, steamy Cuban sunset calling people together to a night of hard partying!

Trex composite decking boards are coated with a clear protective layer, making them incredibly resistant to all the things that can annoy deck owners — fading, stains, scratching, molds and rot. They come with a 25-year Limited Residential Warranty against fading and stains so you can rest assured your composite deck will continue to look new and vibrant regardless of the hot, scorching sun, drenching rain and careless guests spilling food and wine!
